Accessibility statement.

WCAG 2.2 AA, audited. Known issues listed below. Report a barrier directly to Anthony.

Standard.

1891 Parliamentarian is designed and built against WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We aim for AAA in any meeting-critical interaction (vote buttons, motion text, captions).

Methods.

  • Color pairs all 4.5:1 or better; most above 7:1.
  • Every interactive control at least 44×44 CSS pixels.
  • Focus visible at 2px Brass Gavel ring against any background.
  • No information conveyed by color alone.
  • prefers-reduced-motion collapses all transitions.
  • prefers-contrast: more increases text contrast.
  • axe-core runs on every page in CI; manual screen-reader smoke test on VoiceOver and NVDA before each deploy.

Known issues.

At launch, we know of the following:

  • The live demo's TV view is best experienced at 1024px or wider. Smaller widths reflow to a single-column layout.
  • The hero video has captions but no audio description. It is decorative; the same content is in the surrounding copy.

We will publish a fix log in the changelog as issues are resolved.

Last audit.

Self-attested against WCAG 2.2 AA as of 2026-05-26. Formal third-party audit scheduled within six months of public launch.
