Homestead Keys is part of Made By 1891 — five generations Deaf since 1891. Accessibility isn't a feature here, it's the operating principle.

What we test against

• WCAG 2.1 AA. AAA on body text contrast.
• Keyboard-only navigation. Every interactive element reachable with Tab, activated with Enter / Space.
• Screen-reader narration (VoiceOver + NVDA) at least monthly.
• Color + icon + text on every state change. No state communicated by color alone.
• Form labels visible, not just placeholders.
• Photos with descriptive alt text.
• No autoplay audio anywhere.
• prefers-reduced-motion honored — animations and transitions disabled when set.

Known gaps

At v1, the Leaflet map on /marketplace/ is keyboard-accessible but not narrated optimally. The card grid is the equivalent surface — switch to "Cards" view if the map is hard to use.
